Installed new battery "Physio Control 11141-00156" got half way through the PIP as per service manual, from having a full battery at the onset of the PIP it was reduced to 1/4 capacity,
only having carried out a discharge at 360J & 100J to control the discharge calibration.
Question.. anyone else has had this problem?? because this is not the first it's happened to me,maybe an inherent software problem with the PIP which over stresses the battery?
In the user manual the battery is as 12V 6.2Ah,the one supplied 12V 4.5Ah could this be some sort of an equivilent grey import,which is strange as when searching the reference number results in hundreds of apparent hits for OEM batteries

Hi Malcolm, I had this problem a couple of years ago and it turned out that I was not using the latest version of the PIP or PVP instructions. Apparently if you are using the version that asks you to do the automatic test by resetting the clock back to a date of 2004 then what happens after is it "thinks" the battery has been in use for however many years and Writes that age back to the battery which suddenly reduces the displayed battery capacity. We had several do this and one defib replaced before Medtronic forwarded us the most current version of the PIP instructions which are Titled Rev-H. In Rev -H you do NOT sent the year back in time when doing the automatic test?

I'm using a revision from 2007, would you have the possabilty to PM me your revison H

Physio control are aware, we had this too, I always set the date to the first monday of the month for the self test test.
We also had a unit go back to physio control for the same fault, we think the date chip was faulty and would kill batteries on the first monday of the month....Please note that the newer Lifepak 12 batteries are " dated too" if you use them beyond their use by date they report as faulty.
