I was passed this link about the vulnerability of networked medical equipment. It's an American article but the equipment it relates to is probably in use around the world. It looks like most of the findings are theroretical but it gives us food for thought.

I don't remember the *Roberts Pumps being "Bluetooth enabled"!

In other words ... it's not the kit itself that's the "problem", but the fact that they are connected to a network, or have some sort of wireless "interface".

Refrigerators with a "web interface"? Again I ask (not having received any answer previously) - why?

Anybody fiddling about with equipment settings, or stealing images etc. in the way(s) mentioned in the article would have to be a malicious [censored]; so that's the real issue here. Doom on all malicious [censored]!

By the way, as usual, I found the Comments more illuminating than the article itself! Some of them are even sensible!

Bottom line:- this Scott guy was (is) just scare-mongering in order to drum up extra business. H'mmm ... have we ever come across that sort of thing before?

I do wish they would find a more up to date photos for these articles,I'm sure that the Gas machine in the photo is an old "steam powered" Ohmeda, and the Monitor has wet dreams about being connected to the internet......

... don't we all?
