What I really want is a purpose designed APGAR timer, but failing that, does anybody know of a timer suitable for a resuscitation cabinet.
Many resuscitaire devices have such devices built in but ideally a stand alone rail mount unit with very simple controls and a large display?

Ohmeda used to make a dial-type stopclock with a nice big dial - but I don't know if they still do now that they're Datex-Ohmeda !

Apart from that there's the electronic ones from places like R.S. but you'd have to make your own rail clamp.

Today is the day you worried about yesterday - and all is well !

We are evaluating an infant resuscitation cabinet which has a timing device manufactured by Kingtech Enterprises and is available from Viamed

It is the viamed one our Quality Manager is unhappy with and has rejected; RS do one for £15 that is robust looking;Combs are the manufacturers. Medela do one but it is £780ish plus vat!

Does the RS timer beep or alarm at the required intervals? If not I suspect that the midwives or paediatricians/neonatologists won't be too happy about it.

I would suggest the Medela timer is the one to go for as it has adjustable timing options via rear mounted consealed DIP switches. It also bleeps at you at these predetermined intervals.

wink

Thanks for your comments folks, what is your view on Viamed's Offering, BK? I am still witing for replies from some manufacturers.
