Welcome to the forum. smile

Both are good ... but be aware that once you "buy in" to either Fluke or Rigel, you will also be heading down different (and diverging) roads should you then wish to grow your test equipment inventory (purchase other types of biomed test equipment, integrating software etc.).

No doubt there are local agents out there in UAE who will be only too pleased to provide you with quotes, and (who knows) even a "hands on" demonstration or two.

Meanwhile, you might like to consider equipment from BC Group as well. They are the third "main player" these days when it comes to biomed test equipment, and often sadly overlooked, in my opinion. I especially admire their ESU test kit.

Hi Sharan, I fully agree with Geoff's first paragraph....never a truer word....
One question you need to ask yourself is:"Do I require a test database?? whilst it is possible to convert the Ansur Metron Test Report(mtr) files for data bases it's not without problems(tell me about it),however the Rigel Mediguard db makes life life so much simpler.
You should also look at Bender very popular here in mainland Europe.

I've got some news for you on that one, Malcolm:- I've been taking a look at Ansur files recently and am working towards interfacing Ansur with my famous TaskMaster program. That is, sending job files (.mjo) to Ansur, and summoning responses back to TM once Ansur has been used.

What would help me along there would be some clues about how (exactly) folk generally like to use Ansur. Which files do you prefer to load, for instance? .mjo or .mts? I'm assuming that .mts is the preferred method.

Also, what would you like the receiving database (that is, TM in my case) do with the .mtr Results files? What I have done is simply get a closed .mtr from Ansur to close the associated Job in TM.

And would you need a log database of all Ansur .mtr results to be maintained (I'm assuming:- yes ... your "Test Database")? What fields would you like to see in such a "historical record"?

PM (or email) me if you would like a "conversation" about all this!

Meanwhile, I would also like to do something similar with Rigel files; but at present I lack the file details (structures, examples etc.). Onward! smile

Lastly (and back to EST) - whilst we're talking "European" here, don't forget (the handily named) Gossen Metrawatt range.

Hello,
Just be aware that some testers report a pass when test leads are not even connected. I have advised/complained to rigel about their testers doing patient leak current tests when I accidently forgot to connect a lead. They replied biomeds know what they are doing.....

Always check a tester with a known high resistance say 2meg ohm so you get a fail on selected tests, then you are sure the tester is working
