Hi all,
Bought a new central staion monitoring for our cardiac ICU, which has got web access in intranet . It works only on internet explorer V 5.0 n above .
Has anybody tried using the same on Apple Mac or any other browser like google chrome etc.
If you have any idea of running the same on different platform other than MS Windows pls update.

Be careful about changing any software on a medical device. You do not know what the changes could do to the clinical systems. And far worse could happen if anyone downloads something off the web especially a virus. Also do you want the staff to be using a web browser when they should be monitoring people? Will the monitoring function still work correctly while a browser window is open?
Remember it is a medical device that just happens to be built around a PC, it is not a PC.

@Manesh: If I understand the question correctly, you have a Philips IntelliVue Information Center (PIIC) with web review functionality, and you want to access this web review from a PC on the hospital network.

The web review on the PIIC platform uses ActiveX controls to display near-realtime waveforms, and therefore, requires an Internet Explorer browser. The web review also uses browser frames definitions that may not render properly on a non-IE browser.

Trying to access the web review via a non-IE browser will not cause any issues for the PIIC - the web review will simply not render properly on the PC/Mac with the non-IE browser.

As long as the firewall on the PIIC 2nd NIC has been configured as per instructions and anti-virus applications on your hospital PCs are up to date, the risk of PIIC functionality disruption would be minimal.

Sorry for interrupting, but maybe someone of you can help me with Philips FM 20 fetal monitor. I need Service Support Tool software.
