The Graseby MR10 has been the standard device in our hospitals for ages but it's being withdrawn from market in July - any suggestions for a hospital grade alternative device? Not too long ago there were alternatives available but the manufacturers appear to have withdrawn them from the market also - litigation or competition from the home devices?

Thanks in advance

I am suprised Graseby have stopped selling a popular product withlur a decent replacement -but then again this is what happened wth the MS range.
Have yu spoken to Grasby? What is there answer as a matter of interest?
Robert
PS Sorry no knowledge of an alternative.

Hello

It appeared to me that Graseby support and development was dropped when Smiths Medical bought them out.

Another Great British company falls by the way side when taken over by a multinational - albeit a nominally British based one this time.
Such is life.

Is Axminster* still going? think

As you probably know Paul, a brief internet search pulls up a whole load of (what we used to call) apnoea monitors. Most appear to be "home devices" for sure - but can these really be any worse than some of the "hospital grade" ones we (or I, at least) have encountered over the years? whistle

Perhaps the MR-10 "air sensor" technology is being superceded by newer approaches? Motion sensing? Who knows.

Meanwhile, it seems that even Toys'R'Us are getting in on the act these days!

* A different technology (technique) to the MR-10, of course.

Where there is worry (or you can create worry) there is a market.
Especially when it comes to babies.

Central Medical Supplies were only recenty showing an apnea monitor to replace the MR10 it might be worth giving them a try.

So one year on, has anyone found an alternative to the MR10 other than the Siss Baby control from CMS?

Dan,
This thread is about respiratory monitors. You might get appropriate replies if you posted a new thread with an appropriate heading.
