The above devices as used in Cardio-Thoracic Surgery to warm or cool a patient have recently been subject to notification from the MRHA re possible mycobacteria presence in the water used in the system. As a result units using these devices have been required to make major changes to their service support. As one of the UKs' biggest users of these devices we have invested in doing so, producing a deadicated facility to deal with the requested revisions to the devices water quality programme. Having now done so and having obtained water quality results. I now have a few questions for other users, as follows:
1] Re the Sorin Flextherm unit - would any other unit using these devices be willing to discuss off line any water quality results obtaine dfor these devices.
2] Would any UK users be willing to share with us their revised water quality control practices, again off line.
3] Would any unit who has taken delivery of a Sorin 3T unit since August of this year be willing to discuss off line their initial base line testing results for the same.

Hi,I am keen to know also although I am not using Sorin but we are using Cincinati Sub-Zero Hypo/hyperthermia unit. The current practise is change and clean 6 monthly as the PM schedule but our Infection Control is asking for recommendation from the manufacturer which is quaterly.
Thank you.
