Hi All

We have a couple of Sensormedics 3100B and we have a reoccurring problem of the pressure line, all the way up to the pressure transducer, getting contaminated with fluids.

Does anyone else suffer with this kind of issue with the 3100B? and did you ever resolve it?

Many thanks in advance.

If the machine is set up properly this is not an issue, the pressure line has a constant purge flow to stop this. This flow is checked on the service and should equate to a pressure of 140cmH2O when checked with the airway pressure line clamped. This is adjusted with PR6.

This should avoid the issue you are having. The only other way this happens is if the circuit is set up incorrectly and the drain line is connected to the airway pressure port.

Hi Darkmarker

Thank you for your reply.
Yes, the manometer purge line pressure does get checked every 6 months and tweeked if required.
The clinical staff are trained to set the circuit up and complete the Pre-Use checks. They suggest the machine is just faulty every time this event occurs.
