Hi all, hospital I'm now at are looking to update from their old PB840 vents. With the supply of the PB980 on hold for the moment, other brands will need to be trialed.
While Draeger will be in the mix we are a bit stuck for ideas on good other options. Anyone care to put forward some ideas of brands/models that are proving to be up to the task at your hospitals? The vents will need to cover full function across both adult and paed patients.
Needless to say, good service backup is hoped for but that we can judge at a local level.

Thanks all, Dave

We have 2 of the 980s, 8 of the 840s (which we have been assured will be supported for 12 years.

GE Healthcare Engstrom Carestation....almost zero maintenance.
Hamilton Medical...some models not requiring medical air(entrained via HEPA filter)

whats wrong with the 840's we have 12 and still going strong(perhaps I'm waking up Mr Murphy saying that!!)

Nothing wrong with the 840s really just getting a bit old and coming up for scheduled replacement in the next 12 to 18 months so time to start thinking about what next.

we have Maquet and Draeger ICU vents and both types have been excellent hardly any breakdowns over the last 13 years so will look at their new models when we replace.
