Si3C is firmly (obsessively) based on CIVAB, as it is no longer kept up to date?? we are seeing some holes appearing, however for the older equipment someone has gone to the trouble to input almost all the models available in Europe (for example searching the db for "dinamap" returns 69 different models split between Monitor and NIBP types).
As for ANSUR I met a few years ago on a course hosted by SLT Milan (Fluke distributor for Italy) an engineer from TBS GB who had been given a project (cue Sisyphus) to convert the word based PM protocols to run in ANSUR........
Who is (was) that industrious "someone"? Can you not add new equipment types yourself? Or are we saying the Si3C is dead in the water as (if) the CIVAB codes are not longer being developed (and why is that, I wonder)? It all sounds pretty random to me, Mate (and no, I'm not shooting the messenger - just stimulating the discussion). Sisyphus? Boulder up a hill? I wonder if the guy has got there yet.

I heard a rumor that a new program was(is) being designed..... Yes you can add new codes but it all depends on your password level. I believe CIVAB was publicly funded as it was also available in book form, free of charge to public hospitals but from 2009(last printed version) the funds were no longer available. It could be that the CIVAB codes are kept upto date for Si3C users,I'll do some digging.

Yes, it would be a pity to let such a good (?) system - coding format - wither on the vine ( vino?). Maybe there's a "CIVAB Users Group", or some such thing. It was my understanding (?) also that CIVAB was (is?) a government sponsored "initiative"; hopefully Italy (unlike another country I could mention) doesn't spend millions on such projects only to bin them when a fresh ("thrusting", young, ambitious - moronic) minister breezes onto the scene.

It seems that the CIVAB Codes now live on as the handily-named "TBS Medical Device and ICT Codes". "Conquering the World" (of Biomed), or what?

Has anything been dug up yet then, Malcolm? Sisyphus:- in Greek mythology Sisyphus was the king of what is now known as Corinth. He was punished for his various failings, overall corruption and deceitfulness by being forced to roll an immense boulder up a hill, only for it to roll down when it nears the top, repeating this action for eternity. Tasks that are repetitive (in fact, never ending), yet both labourious and futile are sometimes described as Sisyphean.
See also:- monotonous, tedious, boring, uninteresting, humdrum, mundane, tiresome, wearisome, dreary, soul-destroying, mind-numbing, et al.
If you don't inspect ... don't expect.
