Excuse my total ignorance of some of the issues surrounding these devices. I have been looking at getting "rid" of a number of these machines but my staff tell me that maybe patient/repair staff details are retained in these machines.

Does anybody know if this is just the usual key-press information that the units may retain for error and problem solving proposes or do these units actually retain
a. repair staff details - who logged into the unit to carry out work ?
b. patient treatment details along with patient details?

If these units for retain such information what is the best way of erasing these details.

Also I have been informed that some sort of manufacturers "black box" memory may also retained on the unit.

I have been told, and I will be verifying this with the company, that Fresenius will charge for the privilege of them doing this - clearing the units of saved data.

Just a couple of thoughts:-

1) What does the Service Manual have to say about this?
2) How are you planning (hoping) to dispose of these machines?
3) Your last sentence will almost certainly be correct. frown

If you don't inspect ... don't expect.
