A new paper has found active SARS-CoV-2 on the air intakes of CT systems. Potentially this finding could affect any equipment located in the patient environment that has been exposed to COVID-19 patients, such as computer air intakes and any forced air cooling intake areas.

Clearly those servicing such equipment will now need to ensure they wear appropriate filtered face masks and only use a HEPA filtered vacuum cleaner (with sealed disposable filters, such as the CONVC 3000) as well as gloves. Any disposable filters fitted to air intakes must be handled and disposed of as hazardous waste, as well as the vacuum cleaner filter.

Thanks Mike

Can you send me a link to the paper please.

We are looking into potential safety and control measures based on your information but the paper may provide useful insight.
