Does anybody, with actual real world experience, have a recommendation for an Airvo2 (nasal high flow) alternative? - we don't like the 'The expected service life of the device is given as five years' and 'The Airvo2 is termed a non-repairable device' and the supplied, but not supported, UPS option is a joke.

I'm liking the look of the Vapotherm Precision Flow but has anybody any experience of them?

F&P have just launched Airvo 3 which is alot better in my opinion. It has a built in battery supply so can be used to move patients about. Not actually tried it yet, but its more intuitive and has a better display.
As an alternative you could look at the Armstrong FD140 which will do CPAP and high flow.
Rather depends on whether you are looking to have this in an ITU environment, but high flow is being added to ventilators as an additional therapy now.
Fabian and Vapotherm can also be used in paeds / neonatal areas.

Hope this helps
Richard

Thanks Richard - this is for the respiratory ward so vents are a little out of their price range.

The Armstrong looks like an interesting unit. Have you experience using this? How do you go with humidification?

Sounds like the Airvo3 might be a big step up (hopefully!) on the 2 - we'll have to see what they come back with in terms of service life & servicing.

Hi Rob

Do you want to give me a call?
Might be easier than lots of messages on this chat.

Regards

Richard

It is a shame that we have to scrap Airvo2s that's Mode, Up/Down button overlays have perished. F&P tech support informed that the Airvo2 is termed as a non-repairable device and faulty devices have to be replaced. The service quality has declined since the demand for High Flow Oxygen devices surged during Covid 19 and after.
