Hi Guys,
I hope you are all well. Id like your thoughts on the above please. The GE Aisys CS2 anaesthetic machines have a 4 year service task of replacing the 2 batteries. The manual states that "matched pairs" must be used. i wasnt quite sure what that meant but a quick google seems to imply that the same batch numbers may suffice? Of course, the batteries from GE are CONSIDERABLY more expensive than we can get them elsewhere and we have been told we are able to get the same batch numbers ordered from these other suppliers. Any comments/thoughts gratefully received. Thanks in advance

I personally have mounted batteries supplied in the same moment by the same supplier, never had any problems, I suppose you could interpret matched pairs as batteries of the same age, same lot number better still.

Not as though you are purchasing 8 matched pair tubes for your high end class A amplifier ;-))

I assume the UK is the same as here in Italy whereby the anaesthetic machine must be connected to an uninterruptable power supply, so the batteries get little use.

Yes; I wonder what "matched pair" actually means when it comes to batteries. What measurements are carried out in order to achieve "matched" status?

Or is it just a matter of "special labelling"?

Hi Carl

From my understanding of the manual and working on the machines, matched pairs purely means a similar age of battery I.E batteries with the same shelf life. The CS2 machine does not like batteries of different ages as this can mean they have differing current ratings and this could throw up a battery error.

I do not see why you cant get batteries from a third party supplier.

Good luck.
