[Linked Image]Greetings to one an all

Has anyone UK, specifically had any issues with GCX arms breaking / cracking? We have had quite a few show signs of cracking and have had at least one handle snap off.

Raised a complaint with GCX and they brushed it off as user misuse and wrong cleaning method / solutions etc.

We use the Clinell green universal wipes.

TIA
Steve

Trust me its Clinell that is causing the problems. The smallest of cracks and Clinell seeps in and destroys it by dissolving the resins within the plastic. Might be worth a try to use purple PDI sani cloth wipes in an area to see if things improve. I have also found that CIM Med have a better range of roll carts and brackets which are brilliant in the fight on infection control.
Users are supposed to use clinell wipes, leave for five minutes and then wipe again with a "damp cloth". Good luck with that.....

There should be an approved list of cleaning substances in the manufacturer's literature. Have a look and see in the Clinell wipes are in there, or if not what the options are...

They look like the type with the squeeze-to-release handle? Presumably with a patient monitor mounted? Are they used throughout the hospital or do other areas use the type without this handle? In other words - do users know they cannot lift/lower without first squeezing the handle?!
