Is anyone aware of any legislation over the use of enteral feeding/volumetric pumps in the administration of small fluid volumes.

I have been approached by one of our dieticians who is concerned about the delivery pressure that can be reached when the pumps are used in paediatrics.

Any advice would be most appreciated.

Fresenius do a syringe pump for paediatric enteral feeds. It takes reverse luer syringes (female luer on the syringe) as well as the normal spigot feed syringes. It has variable pressure alarms, I do not know what levels they are but there is a fact sheet on their site.
