I would say that companies rely to a great extent on individuals that obtained the skills, experience and training within the NHS and that manufacturers attracted them by offering a better "package" or prospects. Product specific training is one thing that can be provided by manufacturers and as this is a large proportion of the on-the job training provided by the NHS. Perhaps the NHS and manufacturers need to coordinate product-based technical training such that it's only provided by manufacturers using professionally accredited training packages that are formally assessed.
