This thread is moving along with some pace. To go back to Neil's enquiry regarding my "rise to the top", I left the NHS in 1978, having been poached by an American company starting up in the UK. I eventually worked my way up to UK Sales and Marketing Manager, but then re-assessed my life and career. Anyway I'm back in the NHS and working my way back up the ladder again but in a different role.
