DaveC is this the right thread that you wanted, Geoff, fan bearings are parts and therefore part of a main unit that will be tagged. All equipment coming into the hospital is given a tag number once the end-user has completed the acceptance report the equipment is then tagged. Spare parts are inventoried as spare parts. When an end-user reports a fault the departmental code in the system ensures that the service order is sent to that particular department. No histrionics, no complications and no duplications.
