Hang on a minute ! Those don't sound like "enhancements" to me - sounds more like a recipe for disaster ! We're supposed to keep records on equipment for years - FULL records ! We've had more than one case (unfortunately) where we've had to produce details of service dates etc on a piece of equipment which has been scrapped but was involved in an incident beforehand (- which is probably why it was scrapped).
Archive the data by all means, but delete it ? I don't think so.
