It sounds like you have a fair number of those units, Wayne; how old are they, I wonder?
Could it just be that the screens themselves have seen better days? Otherwise, how does the backlighting work; does it have a circuit separate from the screen itself?
Can we assume that any remote display works as we would hope and expect?
There have been a number of these units appearing on eBay recently ... and they all show nice bright displays.
By the way, I love the 660-HD ... there are so many nice connectors on the back!
