We have a problem with alternating paper jam/out of paper messages on our Burdick Quest system. When the machine first completes the boot to the main screen, and rhythm strip is pressed, the recorder starts to run, passes the first black square on the paper and shortly after says "paper is jammed". Removing the paper,it changes to "paper out", and reinserting the paper it goes back to "paper is jammed" again. The recorder wont run again until the system is rebooted. We have replaced the queue sensor, the intermediate pcb on the printhead assembly and also the stress interface pcb, but the problem persists. The paper roller is undamaged and appears in good condition. Paper type is correct and works fine on our other Quest system. Looks like a software problem, but service manual no help and there seems to be no tech support for Burdick equipment after the takeover from Cardiac Science. Dont really want to swap the hard disk from our working system in case it goes belly up too - anyone got any bright ideas?
To err is human; to do so more than once is contrary to departmental policy.

Dear Bill, We too have 2 systems and facing problems with quest touch monitors no real technical help from burdik since there is no local distributor in our country. Have you tried mechanical parts, gear, rollers etc. You can try Swaping the whole printer module for your problem.
Best of luck Sajeev

During March of this year we tried to purchase a complete system from Beaver Medical who I believe may be able to help you. Also know there is a brand new ( never used ) system but without monitor at Huddersfield General hospital perhaps Contact Brian at the EBME departmenthe may be able to help . The hospital awere trying to sell it.

Dear Sir, Any one have tried networking the burdick (Quest) system and sending the reports to electronic medical record? Do you have a copy of system software (QNX) and its installation manual? Regards Sajeev

respected members,
kindly advice
we have two spacelabs machine , one burdick holter and one quest treadmill.
burdick holter : is showing a message " dynamic link .....failed" just after the boot up and then the system just hangs, quest treadmill: the touchscreen of the system was not working and so we replaced the touchscreen monitor,(ELO). But the system is not accepting the touchscreen , ie its showing some no's are scrolling on the screen when connected
is there any chance of getting the software reloaded into the system ( or the driver for the monitor)reinstalled in the system
thanks
