Guys need a bit of a hand with this one, this concerns the gold series and predecessors. When calibrating with the precision syringe, calibration is successful on the display but on the bellows driven chart I get an inconsistent increase, i.e. 1litre fine, then 2.1 increasing up to 7.5 for 7litres input. I've moved the base plate as advised in the tech manual, and ones fitted with a calibration scale of adjustable screws I've adjusted to no avail. I've even changed the bellows to no effect, this is common to all vitalographs I've inherited across my region, and having had no training on these, well any advice?

Have you spoke to vitalgraphs service department as they will be able to give you some useful information on possible solutions. They are very helpful as it's been a long time since I've worked on a gold standard machine.

Cheers mate, yes I did, they said the cams will have to be adjusted, they did not elaborate on this and then quoted 300 quid per machine to do this, I am now in the process of having a chat with my bosses about just acquiring a desk jet printer and associated cabling for about 100 quid and ignoring the bellows, printing all results and calibration reports to a desk jet.

You will need to remove the back then you will see about 8 hex screws or small bolts on the cam. You will need to adjust them so that you get the correct reading on the chart to correspond with each inflation with the cal syringe. The cam should end up with a gentle curve i.e. not big steps. This info is in the user manual, if you haven't got one, search Vitalographs web or phone them and see if they have a spare copy
