I have now gone through a ' Deniro & Pacino ' film fest the last few weeks and covered all of the classics. Moving on to Jack Nicholson this weekend.. Having seen ' one flew over the cuckoos nest ' ( Loved it, brilliant film! ) I think I'm going to give ' The Shining ' a go... 8.4 on IMdb so must be worth a watch I guess! think

Don't be taken in by the IMDB scores, I foolishly watched Mel Gibson's 'The Patriot' recently - absolutely dreadful!
(I'd seen Apocalypto and thought it was quite good.)

I'm sure it won't be the case with The Shining, though. wink

You are right Huw.. I have fell for the IMdb rating trap before! I try to be a little more selective now though by cross referencing a few reviews before taking the plunge.. The shining wasn't what I was expecting at all but I was pleasantly surprised! Didn't see that end twist coming at all! 8/10 smile

Is that the Hunt v Lauda film Ian? ( I haven't seen it as yet, I keep meaning to! )

My two picks for this weekends movies are: ' Bullitt ' and ' Cool hand Luke ' - ( My fathers recommendations )

Hopefully another 2 classics to check off the list! grin

Yes - we paid for Gallery seats which included unlimited coffee and didn't get up once.

Could have done with a pause button!

I also think "A Brilliant Mind" ranks high too.

Was that meant to be ' A beautiful mind ' ( Russel Crow ) - or is it a completey different film Ian? ( I haven't seen either anyway! laugh )

I did enjoy ' Cool Hand Luke ' over the weekend, not so much ' Bullitt ' though, car chase scenes were quite good but I wouldn't put it into my favourite classics category think

Im now looking for ideas for a couple to watch over this weekend coming... smile
