Hi All, Has anyone used the new "supertubing" from F&P? Gets rid of rainout completely but how exactly does it do it? Product blurb says its permeable membrane lets just the water out not potential nasties but I've heard that its not permeable! Can any one shed some light on this?

Hi Keith
Is this the coaxial circuit that F & P released about 3 years ago where the inspiratory tube is contained within the expiratory. There also introduced a heater wire within the expiratory tube so that it doesn't act like a condenser, hence no rain out.
Have you spoke to the F & P rep to see what they say?

We at present are trialing the 223 circuit on our Neonatal Unit; we previously had a problem with rain out due to our air conditioning units on the ward. These circuits have served their purpose and have dramatically reduced the amount of rain out in the expiratory limb - a very good product indeed, and well worth trialing.
