We pay £150 p.a. and are told that the profit goes to supplement "services and patient care"

Both hospital sites are very open plan and the excuse of no space to use/build on doesn't carry any weight.

What I do find baffeling though is that part of my contract of employment states that as well as having " a current clean driving licence" you must also have access to a car.

Surely then this is a necessary feature of employment so I should be able to claim back from my employer the car parking charges as a monthly expense.

Because we have to travel between sites surely we should be able to claim this back. eek

Another point to the people whose employer actively encourages other forms of transport to work.
Do they expect you to walk in, cycle, wait for public transport if you are on-call and called out at 2am in the morning.

I wonder what their response would be if you showed up 3 1/2 hours later to an emergency call if you said you'd walked the 7 miles into work.
