cool, Andy, only because I myself like to be cool with everyone! Thanks for acknowledging that I advocate complete freedom of information, but unfortunately, I cannot "name and shame", because we have enforceable
slander laws in this great country of ours!
As an "old sweat" myself, carrying no doubt values from a bygone-age around with me (but not, I would have thought "holier than thou" ... or anybody else), I personally am against the idea of serving members of HM Forces "earning a bit extra" as you put it. Let's hear your take on it. I certainly didn’t do it, and can’t remember any of the guys I served with doing it, and had they done so on my watch they would
definitely have got a bit of short-shrift from me! Bluntly put, I would have regarded it as "letting the side down". Perhaps different values apply today.
