I would like to know what other engineers are claiming for their oncall mileage rate. I have studied AFC which seems to be open to interpretation as always. It talks about returning to work for O/T and T in Lieu but not specifically on-call. We are being told PTR rate (taxable) Which will cover the cost of petrol if your vehicle is reasonably economical but not wear and tear. Official AA figures claim about 38p/mile from memory for running costs.
Surely we cannot be expected to be out of pocket can we?
Is PTR appropriate, Can anyone tell me if there is a bus service running at 3am?
I would like to here your thoughts.
