I can only but agree with the previous two posts. I have also pressed such points (and others) on the rare occasions that I have encountered "bobbies" out on the street, only to be informed that the Traffic Division is "aware of such issues, but only have limited resources with which to deal with them" (
etc.).
Meanwhile, can I also add Rottweilers and "Staffies" to the list of sad persons' fashion accessories?

On a serious note, it is now illegal for the morons to have this pollution inflicted on joe public, but as usual the police will not enforce it.
My big, burly, jolly, local Plod tells me (with some degree of authority, I might add) that it's "all a question of decibels"! I guess he means that the large exhausts actually emit a low frequency noise that falls below the legal dB limit. Does anyone have all this "chapter and verse", as it were?
Meanwhile, my own take is that a Public Nuisance is just that (regardless of "dB levels" and all the rest). Around here we also enjoy the spectacle of youths (and kids, even) roaring around the streets on unlicensed motor-bikes (noisy, of course), without helmets, popping wheelies (skillfully, I'll admit), in fact without any sort of care at all. Needless to say, the Plod
do know about it (if only because I've told them), but as usual, nothing seems to get done. Perhaps we have to wait until someone gets maimed or even killed.
