The Virion Test™ being demonstrated on our stand is an ion mobility spectrometry method for analysing saliva specimens for COVID-19. The specimen is collected using a cotton swab and gives a decision on COVID-19 status in 50 seconds. The Limit of Detection is around 50 viral particles per 150 µl sample. This is a platform technology for detection of other diseases and conditions that are currently being developed.
