Ken, I am afraid I would let the book decide. As mentioned before the manufacturer gives his recommendations who am I to argue. Why should I (as Louis constantly tells us) put my gluteus in the firing line? I feel that as millions of dollars go into R&D of medical equipment then surely we must appreciate the value of the design bods servicing recommendations. What I don’t agree with is when the sales team push “unnecessary” additional service requirements on the kit in question i.e. to milk more money from us. As mentioned by Jim earlier this should be negotiated at the purchase stage.

With regards to the afore mentioned document by John Sandham IEng MIIE MIHEEM I agree, it is an excellent piece, however is there? or has there been an "official" seal of approval on any of the content?
