Details of the 2014 Scottish 'Completing the Picture' event, the must-attend annual educational symposium for biomedical engineering and clinical procurement specialists north of the border, have been announced by Welch Allyn.
A recognised professional development opportunity, the event will take place on Wednesday 29th October 2014 at Westerwood Hotel and Golf Resort, Cumbernauld.
Designed to improve knowledge and awareness of current and future clinical issues that impact on the industry, 'Completing the Picture' is free to attend and sponsored by an educational grant from Welch Allyn.
The programme will focus on the ways that technology can help improve the patient experience, with a session devoted specifically to demystifying CO2 monitoring. Also covered will be an introduction to using LEAN waste-reducing tools, together with a look at the ever-closer relationship between IT and clinical engineering.
Speakers will include Dr Alex Zarneh, Head of Medical Physics / Radiation Protection Services, Mid Yorkshire Hospitals NHS Trust; Mark Richardson, Senior Facilitator at the Lean Healthcare Academy; Gary Cordery, Head of Medical Equipment Management Services (MEMS) Basildon and Thurrock University Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust, and Dr Ram Matsa, Consultant Intensivist, University Hospitals North Staffordshire.
Supporting the event is a priority for Welch Allyn, which has been associated with innovative, ground-breaking medical devices for almost 100 years.
