Eastwood Park’s healthcare engineering degree programmes start again in October 2018, so there are just a few weeks left to secure your place for this year’s intake for:
- Foundation degree medical equipment technologies
- Foundation degree hospital engineering
- BSc (Hons) management of healthcare engineering technologies & facilities
The degrees are delivered in collaboration with Staffordshire University, who recently secured the biggest climb compared to any UK university in the Complete University Guide 2019. Staffordshire University prides itself on delivering “world class healthcare education”, making the university an ideal partner to deliver these degrees with us, as the UK’s leading provider of healthcare engineering training.
Because the degrees are part-time, students can continue working and earning at the same time, with study carried out through distance learning and assessment, supported by 4 residential study weekends per year at Eastwood Park. This is undoubtedly a preferable option for many who have been away from the classroom for a long time, or do not have the option to return to full-time study.
On completion of a foundation degree, there is the option to progress onto a further year's study for a BSc (Hons) Management of Healthcare Engineering Technologies & Facilities. However, applicants with other relevant qualifications are also welcome, as well as those with relevant experience for direct entry onto the programme.
Mechanical Estates Officer, Simon Everett, who is currently enrolled with Eastwood Park, commented (in an interview with The Robert Jones and Agnes Hunt Orthopaedic Hospital)
“completing this specific degree is beneficial as hospital engineers need a much broader and deeper knowledge and skill set than any one single trade. This combination of experience across a range of hospital engineering disciplines, plus a degree level qualification from two well-respected organisations will not only help you stand out in the employment market, but give you a much more rounded view of your role and the opportunities open to you within the industry."
