Over the last eighteen months the medical engineering training portfolio has undergone significant transformation and continues to evolve to meet the emerging technical training challenges of the future.
Originating from the initial specification of the new training area for medical engineering, it is equipped with a live medical gas pipeline system, an independent ethernet network, Wi-Fi, and supported by a developing learning management system to contribute to the realisation of the vision to provide a safe, immersive, realistic, and challenging learning environment.
The learning environment comprises of a workshop area, ward area, based upon a modern high dependency unit, and dual purpose orthopedic/ general operating theatre. The days of the traditional classroom environment are limited, with the new learning environment presenting endless opportunities.
