Welch Allyn

Welch Allyn, whose reputation for innovation stretches back over 100 years, has won a highly coveted award from Cerner, the world-leading information software specialist.

The award, presented at Cerner Health Conference 2013, which was attended by 11,000 delegates, recognised the highly successful partnership between the two companies that has seen world-leading technology introduced in countries around the world, not least the UK.

A major focus has been Cerner's CareAware VitalsLinkā„¢, which offers integrated vital signs monitoring, enabling clinicians to record patients' vital signs at their bedside using a mobile collection device and creating an electronic health record (EHR) for each patient. By eliminating the need for manual data recording, frontline healthcare professionals can save time as well as improving the accuracy of the data recorded.

Welch Allyn was nominated for the award for 'demonstrating outstanding execution in the challenging international marketplace,' by Ahsan Mizra, Cerner's Senior Director, Global Technology Sales Leader. Mr Mizra also praised Welch Allyn's attitude and willingness to engage, which makes them 'an ideal partner when exploring new opportunities in new markets.'

'Over the last few years, Cerner and Welch Allyn brought integrated vital signs monitoring and CareAware VitalsLink to Canada, the United Kingdom, and Australia,' said Mr Mizra. 'Welch Allyn understands the value of CareAware iBus and promotes it even in markets on the fringes of adopting device connectivity.'

'We really value our partnership with Cerner in the UK and are thrilled with the award,' says Jan McMeekin, UK Manager of Welch Allyn. 'As healthcare providers increasingly recognise the benefits of integrated software solutions, we look forward to working with Cerner to offer innovation that benefits clinicians and patients alike.'
