Job Summary
IQ Medical Limited is seeking a motivated and hands-on EBME Operative to join our growing technical service team based at our Rugby Head Office.
In this role, you will support the maintenance, repair, testing, and decontamination of pressure-relieving medical equipment, including dynamic mattresses, cushions, and pumps used across NHS and private healthcare settings.
You will play an essential role in ensuring that medical devices are safe, clean, and operational for clinical use, directly contributing to patient safety, infection prevention, and the quality of care delivered across our national NHS contracts.

Main Responsibilities
• Carry out planned preventive maintenance (PPM), electrical safety testing, and functional performance checks on pressure-relieving systems.
• Assist with the diagnosis and repair of faults on pumps, mattresses, and cushions.
• Support the decontamination process, ensuring all equipment is cleaned, disinfected, and inspected in accordance with infection control standards.
• Record all maintenance and service activity within the company’s asset management system, ensuring full traceability and compliance.
• Prepare, label, and package equipment for dispatch to healthcare sites.
• Maintain a clean, safe, and organised working environment at all times.
• Provide occasional support with equipment delivery, collection, and installation at NHS hospital locations.
• Comply with company policies and MHRA standards relating to medical device maintenance, quality systems, and documentation.

Person Specification
Criteria Essential Requirements
Qualifications NVQ Level 2 or 3 (or equivalent) in Electrical, Mechanical, or Electronic Engineering.
Experience Practical experience in equipment servicing, technical maintenance, or engineering.
Knowledge Basic understanding of electrical and mechanical systems, including fault-finding and safety testing.
Skills Strong attention to detail, accurate record keeping, teamwork, and effective problem-solving skills.
Other Requirements Reliable, methodical, and self-motivated. Full UK driving licence required for occasional travel.
