Venue: Coventry Building Society Arena, Coventry
The Electronic and Biomedical Equipment (EBME) conference and exhibition started in 2009, as a way of improving healthcare through the sharing and application of knowledge from experienced professionals involved in the use, maintenance, and management of healthcare technology. This educational event has grown in numbers of delegates, exhibitors and speakers. It remains a sponsored event, but is independent of any one commercial company.
For our 2023 event on the 28th & 29th June, we are excited to announce that we will once again be at the Coventry Building Society Arena (Formerly the Ricoh Arena), Coventry, UK. This larger venue has enabled us to expand and keep up with demand from both exhibitors and delegates, and we are delighted to now offer three conference areas: EBME (1), Operating Theatres (2), and Training/Procurement (3).
Attendance is free for all conference delegates and exhibition visitors - Click here to register
Medical equipment management is ultimately a process that includes buying, using and maintaining equipment, which is why we have now included a dedicated procurement and training conference area. Operating theatre staff are the largest group of medical equipment users in hospitals, and they have been a valuable addition to our audience.
Dr John Sandham will continue to Chair the EBME conference hall, and all conference delegates will be able to choose their preferred topics, in either hall.
The 2023 EBME Expo will be open to delegates for 2 days with the focus being on innovations in medical equipment technology, maintenance, and training (Essential Patient Monitoring Course) on day one; and medical equipment management and procurement on day two. The two-day programme will allow delegates to understand the latest improvements in healthcare technology and management across a range of professional areas and offer numerous opportunities for informal networking.
Our conference programmes, will feature at least 15 speaker sessions each day, concentrating on understanding how technology can deliver improved patient outcomes at lower costs.
In addition to the three conference halls, the 2023 EBME Expo will have even more innovative and internationally respected companies in the exhibition hall. There will be a range of both large and smaller exhibition spaces available, to enable all types of companies to come and demonstrate their new products. Thanks to the sponsorship of our 130+ exhibitors, this independent exhibition is offered free of charge to all visitors. Furthermore, there are three workshops in the break out areas and many of our exhibitors provide technical demonstrations.
The aim of the event is to share knowledge and improve awareness, thereby assisting healthcare organisations to become safer and more efficient.
We have been working with our event partner ‘BtoB events’ to further improve the experience in this larger venue. Once again, attendance is free for all attendees, our specialist registration company will be back, and refreshments will be available to purchase on site for those who do not have them included.
Continuing Professional Development: Each attending conference delegate will receive a certificate for their continuing professional development (CPD) record. This educational seminar meets CPD requirements for the NHS knowledge and skills framework (KSF). Core dimensions: 1 (Communication), 2 (Personal Development), 4 (Service Improvement), and 5 (Quality).
Central Location: Situated in the heart of the UK, the Coventry Building Society Arena is a world-class exhibition, event and conference centre based in the vibrant city of Coventry, just a 20-minute drive from Birmingham. This Arena is within a two-hour drive of 75% of the population, and has over 2000 parking spaces.
Not only does the Arena also have its own on-site railway station, but with three train stations within 8 miles, Birmingham International Airport only a 20-minute drive away, and London Euston a 55-minute train ride away, the Arena is an ideal destination.

After three and a half years of working in healthcare sales for Europe, Sam was keen to return to Bender UK to support the substantial growth within the UK healthcare sector.
In his new role, Sam will be working closely with valued partners to supply the latest operating room technology to NHS and private hospitals across the UK.
Bender UK is well known for supplying market-leading power systems and operating theatre equipment. Sam has supplied clinical technology for 10 years, and his experience and knowledge will aid sales growth and support new members joining Bender UK.
When asked what his first priorities are in the new role, Sam said, “My aim for the first three months is to ensure I assist with various ongoing healthcare projects, whilst visiting as many new and existing customers as possible. Covid taught us how to communicate using technology but having face-to-face interaction with our customers is key to us understanding their requirements.”

Managing your patients’ anaesthesia requires precise devices1. Built on the BD Alaris™ neXus platform, the BD Alaris™ neXus PK syringe pump is designed to offer timely, precise and effective anaesthesia for children and adults.
Improving workflow efficiency
Workflow efficiency is highly important in busy operating rooms (OR)2. BD Alaris™ neXus PK offers a user-friendly interface and a large display showing all critical infusion data at a glance.
Promoting patient safety
During complex OR procedures, patient safety is a concern. The BD Alaris™ neXus PK offers a broad range of plasma (PK) and effect site (PD) targeting models. The Eleveld Propofol and Eleveld Remifentanil models are the only TCI models able to provide PD target steering for children. They help anaesthesiologists meet IV anaesthesia requirements in a safe, timely and accurate way3.
Wi-Fi enabled
Wireless transfer of infusion data through the Alaris™ Communication Engine to the hospital information systems. Automatic wireless download of pump event logs and the update of datasets from anywhere in the hospital improves the process without interrupting clinical workflows as pumps are infusing.
Increased medication safety for all population
The BD Alaris™ neXus PK syringe pump has patent pending medication safety to minimize the potential for programming errors, especially when setting up infusions for children. This technology automatically adjusts the suggested default settings for height and weight based on the patient’s age that is entered when using the Eleveld propofol and Eleveld remifentanil TCI model.
New TCI drug models*
The BD Alaris™ neXus PK syringe pump offers a complete TCI solution allowing for timely, effective and precise IV anaesthesia, helping to perform safe and smooth procedures and optimising the IV anaesthesia workflow.

Medical IT systems provide operating theatres, intensive care units and other Group 2 medical locations with a safe and secure power supply that continues to operate in the event of a first insulation fault.
The new COMTRAXX® CP305 alarm indicator and control panel is designed to display the status of the medical IT system and notify the clinical and maintenance teams of any faults in a safe and timely manner.
The new CP305 is part of the CP series of glass touch displays developed by Bender. It has a modern 5" glass touch display, an intuitive interface for improved usability, and increased display area that ensures the status of the medical IT power is recorded instantaneously. Faults are signalled through audio and visual alarms, with customised text messages such as: Fault on socket-outlet 3 in room 508 - Remove connected device. This gives clinical staff information where a fault has occurred and how to eliminate it. Clear messaging and handling instructions prevent uncertainties during troubleshooting.
This new CP305 control panel offers all prerequisites for future-proofing hospitals - it can be controlled, parameterised, updated and maintained remotely without the need for an engineer or maintenance teams to enter sensitive hospital areas. Connection is made via LAN or through the Bender Connect App. CP305 can also connect to nurse stations to monitor the status of systems through a central location. Due to its glass surface, the CP305 is very easy to clean and disinfect.
CP305 is the successor product of the MK2430 alarm indicator panel, which has reliably displayed faults in hospital power systems for many years. As a direct replacement it is more modern, easy to retrofit and install. It will be recommended as standard for new build hospital projects.
CP305 is part of the COMTRAXX® range of touchscreen control panels including CP9 24” operating theatre alarm indicator panel and CP9 15” suitable for staff bases and nurse stations.
CP305 will be available as of Q1/2023.
